Using techniques that have remained unchanged for hundreds of years and materials from Jiangxi (the source of some of the world's finest porcelain clay), craftsmen create these exquisite handmade porcelains just as their grandfathers did, and their grandfathers before them. Their methods are traditional, intensely detailed, and increasingly rare. Each intricate design is painted entirely by hand; an underglaze artist must apprentice for ten years before he can be granted his highly skilled position.
